KAMPOENG LOEMBOENG, when tradition meets luxury

•November 27, 2010 • 1 Comment

THE TRADITIONALLY LOEMBOENG
Loemboeng ( or lumbung) is an Indonesian word means rice barn. In Balinese tradition, the loembong is built for gathering the rice harvest from the rice paddy field. The storage is placed on the upper floor. The lower floor is a sitting area for gathering of the farmer and his family.

THE CONTEMPORARY LOEMBOENG
The idea to use The Rice barn as a cottage came when I look in to the site. The layering rice field is very eye catching and should be responded properly with the right context.
The basic idea of the design is bring luxury into the rustic building and to add an extraordinary experience to the lifestyle.
The up stair will be a huge master bed room with a balcony to relax and enjoy the sunset or sunrise view of the layering rice field. The downstairs’ is designed for a master bathroom with a SPA room for massage activity. Below the balcony is a plunge with jaccuzi for relaxation.

DESIGNING WITH CURVE, golden cod – the spa.

fish-shaped configuration in lay out

Try to design with curve. You will be surprised with the result. I experinced this when I design Golden Cod- The spa. Using a curval line as a guidelaine, I made a fish-shaped composition of some buildings in this SPA.

As one of healthiness icons, Cod Fish is choosen to become the theme of the SPA.

The basic idea is to make a configuration of “a fish form” in the lay out. The pool and the sauna area will be the head. The body treatment & prepration-staff buildings will be the body. The reception, Salon – beauty center & the gymn buildings will be the tail.

Laid on the wet land (which become a small lake in reiny season), The SPA will become a floating building on water.

With dinamic lay out and water background, the configuration will be like a fish dancing on the water.

It’s simple, strongly oriented and impresive.

THE FISHING RESORT, disain resort khusus buat penggemar mancing

•March 12, 2010 • 2 Comments
